Overview
A highly flexible primer and undercoat which is ideal for use on outdoor wood including doors and windows. It gives a smooth finish that flexes with the natural movement of the wood so it will not crack, peel or flake. Its excellent opacity means it can cover bold colours and dark marks for a uniform finish. When used with Ronseal's 10 Year Weatherproof Paint, it’ll last an entire decade. Available in grey for darker and bolder topcoats and white for paler topcoats.

Preparation
Always ensure the surface to be painted is clean and free from dirt, dust and grease.
Bare Wood
- Lightly sand the wood with a 120 grit sandpaper, work in the direction of the wood grain and smooth out any rough patches.
- Remove any dust and wipe the surface down by dampening a cloth with white spirit.
- If there are any holes or cracks fill them with a wood filler such as or .
Previously Painted Wood
- If the wood is in good condition and the surface is sound simply sand with a 120 grit sandpaper and clean away any dust.
- If there is flaking paint, sand the wood with a 120 grit sandpaper to remove the old paint to create a smooth surface. We recommend using an electric sander working in the direction of the wood grain.
- Let the dust settle and wipe it away with white spirit and a cloth.
- If there are any holes or cracks fill them with a wood filler such as or .
- Any rotten wood must be treated with prior to filling.
Application
We recommend performing a test to ensure compatibility, always follow the manufacturer's instructions found on the tin.
- Stir the primer well to a smooth consistency.
- Apply using a synthetic paintbrush, for best results work in the direction of the wood grain.
- Allow the first coat to dry for 4 hours before applying the second coat.
- Allow the second coat to dry for 4 hours than lightly sand with a 240 grit sandpaper before finishing with a suitable topcoat such as Ronseals 10 Year Weatherproof Wood Paint.
