This rustic drop-shoulder cardigan is an absolutely classic, cozy wardrobe staple. Inspired by a love for old books and spending hours reading in great libraries, designer Natalie Bullock has added decorative flower bobbles on the sleeves and a faux shoulder seam to create a uniquely captivating piece.
The Merle Cardigan is worked flat bottom up, and once the lower body is done, the right front, left front, and back stitches are divided and worked separately. You can choose to either pick up stitches along the armhole and knit them flat attached to the garment, or cast on the right amount of sleeve stitches, knit them flat and then seam them to the body later. This is a good option if you find picking up stitches and working them flat attached to the body too finicky!
Knitted in Acadia makes all the special details stand out, and has lovely drape, flecks of varying color, and a wonderfully soft and silky feel. Wrap yourself in Merle Cardigan and indulge in your favorite novel.
